A Coal Washing Plant (CPP, also known as Coal Handling and Preparation Plant (CHPP), Coal Handling Plant, Preparation Plant, Dumper, or Coal Washing Plant) is a piece of equipment used to wash coal from soil and rock, breaking it down into grades Small and large blocks (sorted), selected for storage, and finally transported to market, typically by railcar, barge or ship to transport coal.

Controls and instrumentation are an important part of CPP. We know that PLC is widely used in factory design, the control system is to use PLC to complete the monitoring and detection of flow, density, liquid level, dust and humidity. SCADA also plays an important role, it monitors the control process of the entire system. In this system, we also use some special instruments such as density meter and coal mine element real-time analyzer.
Because the number of input and output points of the CPP system is relatively large, the system requires the PLC to have a strong stand-alone expansion capability, and the module has a remote IO function to realize distributed installation.

The CPP control system uses Haiwell PLC. As a partner of Haiwell in South Africa, we have realized a low-cost PLC control system through Haiwell PLC, and Haiwell PLC has fast processing capability and powerful remote I/O expansion function. In this CPP system, we have successfully realized the system control of 600 I/O points.
Haiwell SCADA runs on the industrial touch all-in-one computer P22, which communicates smoothly with the PLC, and the IPC industrial computer supports remote access, so we can visit it anywhere and anytime.
